Eating This popular circular walk takes you from Dovedale to Milldale using sections of the Tissington Trail and Limestone Way to take you on a tour of this popular area of the Peak District. Very easy and beautiful trail to go on, but you can make it more challenging if you wish to by exploring some of the amazing landmarks such as Reynard's Cave. The delightful village of Parwich lies just a few miles to the east of Dovedale. This leads you out onto a road, and youre back in the village of Thorpe. Not my usual kind of walk, this is a very well maintained path between points . Both of these are free car parks. The fencing prohibits you crossing over to take the footpath up to Thorpe Cloud. The Tissington Trail is an old train line in England, youll pass under many old railway bridges as well as going past the old train station at Tissington, now a small cafe and toilets! First time visiting and was shocked at how busy it was, however, it quietens down 3/4 mile from the stepping stonespeople were dragging small suitcases for picnics! There are hills and ascent on the route, including Thorpe Cloud but it depends on your level of experience whether youd find it a steep hill or not. The following route ventures away from the popular footpath on the return from Milldale to Dovedale. It's not a long walk but it can be quite strenuous so not good for little legs that get tired easily, unless you are willing to carry them part of the way. Heading from the car park, the left side of the river is flat hard surface and suitable for wheels, but the other side on the way back is too bumpy, so if you have a wheelchair or buggy, take the path on the left side of the river there and back instead.
